During the trip to Calabar from Umuahia, via Ikot Ekpene we encountered a police checkpoint on the well-paved road between Ikot Ekpene and Calabar The main promenade at Tinapa. It is at least 300 yards long. Some of the shops on both sides are occupied, but what is needed is Free-Trade Zone approval before others, including major international retailers come in.
