Job Description
Purpose:
The Manager, Food Safety & QA is a foundational element of Yum!'s Food Safety Governance Framework and plays an essential role in publishing, communicating, coaching and planning for worldwide adoption of Policy and Standards. Critical accountabilities for this role include assisting Business Units with problem solving, crisis management and authority to adopt alternative standards, where appropriate. Additionally, this role carries the responsibility for collation and analysis of reports from around the globe on Yum!'s Food Safety compliance status and performance trends.

Key Responsibilities:
The global markets for both KFC and Pizza Hut are diverse and complex. Local teams within Brands and Business Units rely upon Yum QA to provide Policy, Standards and Measurement Tools/Metrics to catalyze achievement of full compliance in both the supply chain and within restaurant operations.
  • Provide direct feedback and insights on Brand/Business Unit status to the Chief Food Safety Officer
  • Be a champion of Yum! Food Safety 'Trust in Every Bite...' program
  • Deliver coaching and training to International Business Units on topics including but not limited to: Yum! Policies & Standards, Crisis Management, FSCC, Ingredient Risk Classification, General On-boarding
  • Represent and be an advocate for International teams during development and review of global policies and standards
  • Actively share best practice and know how with global community via calls, YumNet, e-conferences, market visits
  • Coach, using principles of risk assessment, Business Units and Global Brand teams (food innovation, development, operations) through unique business challenges ensuring food safety is never compromised
  • Provide clarity, using scientific rationale and knowledge of our operations, on Restaurant Food Safety Standards (including Food Safety Compliance Check audit) to Business Units, global Brand Operations teams, Yum! Internal Audit team
  • Partner with International QA Director by supporting priorities & goals aligned upon by Business Units and International Director
  • Develop reports on global farm to fork Food Safety compliance and performance metrics for senior leadership on, at a minimum, quarterly basis
  • Lead the relationship, including training and ongoing calibration, with Global 3 rd party FSCC Lead Auditor
  • Represent Yum! QA at industry events and explore new technologies, approaches to Food Safety that could benefit


Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree is a plus
  • Qualified in a technical, scientific discipline relevant to food production and preparation
  • Minimum of seven years of successful achievement in food production or food service environments involving the need to work through influence across functions with competing priorities.
  • Flexible in ensuring availability to customers through daily calendar management and travel schedules.
  • Receptive to opportunities for short term overseas assignments in order to drive team credibility and individual development.
