Description

Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean, the Clinical Simulation Educator will support the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs in the School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Operates and provides technical support for simulation center equipment including hardware and software systems for medical simulation equipment, hardware and software systems for audio visual systems, and hospital appliances such as beds and stretchers.
  • Prepares the simulation center for daily activities.
  • Participates in scheduling simulation sessions and other administrative matters related to simulation.
  • Collaborates with others in the design and delivery of simulation sessions.
  • Participates in professional development related to simulation education.
  • Participates in post simulation debriefing sessions.
  • Participates in simulation quality improvement activities.
  • Provides excellent customer service to the students and faculty.
  • Monitors simulation center inventory and reports shortages.
  • Performs occasional heavy physical lifting and moving of equipment.
  • Performs work assignments in a self-directed manner and takes ownership of work.
  • Supports other components of the School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Health or Computer related field.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to problem solve technology issues.
  • Ability to learn and support operations of the simulation center.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work hour flexibility.
  • Proficiency in internet use, computer literacy, and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting and moving of equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software preferred.
  • Possess basic medical knowledge.

Salary/Salary Range

$65,000
