Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director, HRIS and Compensation, the HRIS Analyst will proactively analyze, maintain and troubleshoot human resource information systems and other human resources computer applications and systems and train employees on system usage. This position serves as a technical point of contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with payroll administration processing, benefits administration, data availability, testing of system changes, process improvement opportunities and end user training. Partner with the Workday Team on quarterly updates and systems enhancements.
Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Serve as primary point-of-contact for technical HRIS issues from faculty and staff.

Work with HR staff to assess changes to systems, reports and business processes within the department. Assist the College’s faculty and staff with technical issues related to the use of HRIS systems. Assist HR staff with technical issues related to the HRIS system by investigating problems and developing detailed suggestions for resolution of issues.

Partner with HRIS Team in the ongoing design, support, and maintenance of WorkDay.

Serve as a liaison with Barnard College Information Technology (BCIT), Payroll, Budget and other campus constituencies to provide systems support and analysis that leverage technology solutions to meet the needs of Human Resources and users of HR information systems throughout the College.

Partner with HR team members to lead and/or assist with the delivery of projects including configuration changes and functionality deployment (including, but not limited to: configuration; testing, documentation; peer review; sign off; training; and change management).

Assist with testing and implementation of system upgrades, resolve system issues, mass data uploads, and perform scheduled activities.

Responsible for monitoring the Workday Case Management System or HCM, Recruiting, Benefits and Time Tracking issues as well as the HRIS mail box. Investigate and resolve issues quickly and with high customer satisfaction. Work with appropriate HR team members as needed.

Develop and document HRIS system procedures and tutorials for employees.

Train end users on various employee and manager self-service workflows.

Perform periodic audits on internal and external system controls and processes.

Performs data input into various HRIS systems as needed.

Create ad-hoc reports and queries for end users.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of data systems and ability to learn more complex data operations

Ability to create and/or run reports from HRMS/HRIS systems

Strong Microsoft Office Skills

Ability to organize and prioritize work under tight time constraints

Understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures in order to ensure correct implementation.

Understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with database tools. Experience with Workday, People Admin or similar products strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of Excel pivot tables and techniques for merging files.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively interpret, communicate and explain technical language in non-technical terms.

Must be customer service oriented with demonstrated effective organization and time management skills.

Ability to deal with sensitive and complex situations, problems, and highly confidential information; deal appropriately with various College and external communities.

Ability to exercise tact and discretion; appreciation of the confidential nature of verbal and written communications and records.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

3-5 years of HRIS experience.

Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Higher Education a plus

Systems implementation experience preferred

Workday Experience a plus

Saalry Range: $68,000 - $73,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
