About the Opportunity

Reporting to and in collaboration with the Director of Talent Acquisition and Recruitment, the Assistant Director for Talent Acquisition and Recruitment will lead, develop, and implement talent acquisition strategy and supporting processes, while delivering innovative recruitment and sourcing strategies aligned with hiring leader goals and the university’s strategic plan.

This role will focus on talent acquisition and recruitment best practices, customer service, and professional development of the team. The Assistant Director will manage the Dual Careers Program at WVU.

This position is hybrid, with the expectation of a schedule that includes onsite and work from home opportunity. Talent Acquisition and Recruitment’s core office hours are Monday – Friday 8:15-4:45. This position is expected to work the hours needed to meet professional responsibilities.

What you'll do:

· Lead the HR Talent Acquisition function, developing and managing efficient and scalable full-cycle recruitment processes to find high-quality candidates for a wide range of university positions.

· Develop and implement the talent acquisition strategy and supporting processes, partnering with leadership to align recruitment strategies with organizational goals and objectives.

· Develop the full candidate lifecycle experience from sourcing, recruitment, internal stakeholder partnerships and management, and offer, that ensures a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.

· Lead the Talent Acquisition and Recruitment team. This includes selecting, hiring, training, developing, and managing performance.

· Ensure the team headcount and structure is designed appropriately to deliver impactful recruiting strategies and a high-touch candidate and hiring manager experience.

· Establish, monitor, and regularly report key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness and impact of talent acquisition efforts, making data-driven improvements.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to provide strategic advice and customer service on tailored recruitment strategies.

· Manage a recruitment-related calendar of events, including hiring events and career fairs.

· Influence and advise at all levels of the University regarding recruitment initiatives, selection and hiring best practices, and policies.

· Collaborate with HR stakeholders, University leaders, and WVU UR to create and promote a positive and consistent employment brand and a compelling candidate experience.

· Manage the WVU Dual Careers Program, providing customized assistance and support to clients in their job search effort. Oversight of program promotion internally and externally, including collaboration with external employers.

· Ensure all talent acquisition practices are compliant with federal, state, and local recruitment and employment laws, regulations, and university policies.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Labor Relations, Business Administration or relevant field. Masters’s degree is preferred.
Experience:

Minimum six years of relevant professional level human resources experience in Talent Acquisition and Recruitment.
· Minimum of two years of experience leading a team.
· Previous experience with ATS systems, job promotion, and sourcing tools (Workday Recruiting, LinkedIn and Indeed preferred).
· Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing employment policies and practices.
· Successful track record of building and optimizing a recruiting function, including process development, technology implementation, headcount management and strategy.
· SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification is preferred

· Excellent organizational, project management, and presentation skills.

· Must be proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

· Strong public communication skills that allow the professional representation of WVU to a variety of business, educational, and community associates.

· Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to collaborate with others and foster team building.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn internal HRIS and talent management systems.

Requirements

• Ability to travel to all WVU facilities and regional campus locations.
• Use of one’s personal vehicle (or WVU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, is required.
