Assistant Professor: School - Clinical Child Psychology (196546)
This position involves primarily teaching courses in the Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology Program, with opportunities to be involved in the PhD School Psychology Program &/or PhD Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis) program. Limited opportunities for teaching at the masters or undergraduate level may be available. The Department offers five graduate programs (Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology, Ph.D. in School Psychology, Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology: Health Emphasis, M.S.Ed. in School Psychology, and M.A. in Psychology), two undergraduate programs (B.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Applied Psychology and Human Relations), and a combined B.A./M.A. program. The Psy.D. program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) as a combined professional-scientific psychology program and also approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). Requirements The position requires a demonstrated ability to develop a strong program of research that involves students with potential for grant funding and experience in evidence-based practice is expected. A commitment to ethical guidelines, social justice, equity, and supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds in the field of psychology is fundamental. Candidates with research areas focused on and/or records of service aimed at supporting populations that experience marginalization/stigmatization are particularly desirable.
