Lawton, OK • ID: POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing screening, assessment, mental health counseling and other services that reduce barriers to learning and create opportunities for greater academic achievement and student success. The Mental Health Counselor reports to the Director of the Student Wellness Center. JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Service Professionally and efficiently execute Cameron University’s commitment to student success. Compliance Maintain compliance with ethical standards in the execution of services in accordance with the American Counseling Association, Oklahoma State Board of Licensure, all university and regent policies, along with other local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Community Relations Work collaboratively with all university departments to ensure efficient delivery of services and productive use of resources to meet university expectations with regard to student mental and behavioral health and wellness. REQUIRED SKILLS: Possess an understanding of patient confidentiality, protected health information, informed consent, ethical standards and disclosure rules, protocol and requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Must hold a current Oklahoma LPC/LMFT license or be under supervision with an approved supervisor. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Fully licensed LPC/LMFT with 2-5 years of experience in individual counseling. SALARY RANGE: Budgeted at $46,000/annually plus benefits. Opportunity for performance compensation subject to approval and budgetary availability.
