Institution SD School of Mines The CBHS Department offers an ACS-certified undergraduate degree in Chemistry, an undergraduate degree in Biology, and an undergraduate degree in Pre-professional Health Sciences. Additionally, the department offers a MS degree in Green and Sustainable Chemistry and will offer a PhD degree in Chemical and Biological Sciences starting in Spring 2024. Research areas currently being pursued by CBHS faculty include sustainable chemistry, biochemistry/biotechnology, materials chemistry, environmental science, health sciences, and deep underground science. Faculty in the department also have opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary graduate programs and collaborate with the externally or state funded Research Centers (https://www.sdsmt.edu/Research/Labs-and-Centers/).
