Job Description
The Department of Geography invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2024. We seek a broadly trained geographer with expertise in one or more technologies such as web mapping, geovisualization, remote sensing, or GIS programming. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to high quality education and the ability to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels for both in-person and online delivery as well as a commitment to research. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to the academic growth and development of students while engaging in impactful research.

The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum and its emphasis on using high-impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one (or more) of the institution’s pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community-based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.). Additionally, the ideal candidate will contribute to the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
