Job Description
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment begins August 2024. We are seeking candidates with teaching and scholarly expertise in the following areas: Applied Sociology, Rural Sociology, Appalachia, Criminology, Work, and Family. While topical specialization is open, we are interested in candidates who complement, not duplicate, the work of existing faculty. Teaching experience is required. Experience with and an interest in developing interdisciplinary teaching and research collaborations with other academic programs at Marshall University and within the greater Huntington community is highly desired.

Salary Range $50,600- Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity and internal equity

Required Qualifications
Education
PhD in Sociology. Applicants who are ABD can apply but must have a completed doctoral degree in sociology at the time of appointment.
Experience
