Career Lecturer – Electrochemical Science and Engineering Open until filled Department Summary Our undergraduate program provides training for students planning careers in the chemical and biological sciences and for those in biology, health-related disciplines, earth sciences, secondary education, business, journalism, and law. Undergraduate research and other educational activities outside the traditional classroom are essential components of these majors. Our graduate program recognizes the importance of diversity and breadth in graduate education and continues to respond to the shifts and changes in career opportunities available to our graduates. Research at the University of Oregon is designed to keep student researchers at the forefront of chemical science. A unique strength of our program is its interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching. Chemical scientists may be interested in the Institute of Molecular Biology, the Institute of Theoretical Science, the Materials Science Institute, the Oregon Center for Optics, and the programs in cell biology and in molecular synthesis, structure, and dynamics. Position Summary The duties for the Lecturer include: (1) Teaching (and developing as needed) graduate level lecture, laboratory, and projects-based coursework in electrochemistry and related subjects, in consultation with the Director of the Electrochemistry Master’s internship program. (2) Assisting with program advertising, admissions, and recruiting to maintain MS student enrollment in response to industry demand. (3) Graduate student mentoring and advising, student internship placement, and alumni relationships. (4) Developing and maintaining industry relationships. (5) Maintaining up to date professional competencies in rapidly changing high technology areas related to electrochemistry.
