Financial and human resource services for the College of Design are managed through the Central Business Services Office (CBSO). The CBSO is a shared services group of subject matter experts, focused on supporting best practices and efficient operations, as well as common business operations and human resource functions for the unit. The mission of the CBSO is to provide consistency through centralized services, offering expertise in processing a wide variety of financial and human resources transactions and functions, including acting as a liaison to the Business Affairs Office, Purchasing and Contracting Services, University Human Resources, and Payroll Administration. Position Summary This role regularly exercises independent judgment and implements unit policies and procedures involving personnel, and you would regularly interpret and apply the appropriate policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable entities. This position is In this role, you will lead unit-specific HR processes above what the CBSO provides such as search support, continuous onboarding procedures specific to the unit, and management of faculty processes for tenure and promotion, tenure reduction (TRP), post-tenure reviews, and career faculty promotion and review as needed. This role also manages the OA (Officer of Administration) and classified performance review processes above what the CBSO provides. In addition, you will serve as the main point of contact for questions and additional information on HR actions being processed in the CBSO. You work directly with the CBSO and ensure that unit-specific responsibilities are fulfilled per the service partnership agreements and workflows that have been developed. As the main liaison between unit leadership and shared service partners in the CBSO, you supply information on needed actions, such as position description development and updates, workload adjustments, equity reviews, coordinating searches, supporting onboarding, and payroll actions. This role works closely with CBSO HR personnel such as the Associate Director of HR, the talent acquisition team, and the payroll team. The Manager reports to the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration. In this role, you will partner with deans, department heads, supervisors, search chairs, and others—providing strategic consultation and excellent customer service to best support the HR activities across the unit and those transactions and activities supported by the CBSO.
