Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Health Services or designee, the Senior Assistant To helps with the daily operations of Student Health Services, overseeing the reception area, check-in flow, and task management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides day-to-day clerical support to Student Health Services.
  • Schedules appointments, prepares documents, updates student records, and scans documents.
  • Checks-in and discharges individuals for appointments.
  • Answers phones and problem solves to ensure the needs of the students are met.
  • Assists students in obtaining appropriate care in a timely manner.
  • Collects and processes payments received for services rendered accurately.
  • Ensures office equipment and supplies are maintained and supplies are ordered within budget.
  • Responds to requests for information from students, staff, parents, and other Hofstra community members.
  • Facilitates the workflow of the reception area, ensuring tasks and daily deadlines are met and work is completed accurately.
  • Interfaces with other departments and vendors as needed to ensure continuity of services are provided.
  • Serves as a resource for MEDICAT EHR system and works with the IT department to troubleshoot any issues with the system.
  • Reviews all tickets associated with student visits to ensure quality and consistency of information and reconciles any issues.
  • Verifies immunization data received from students and ensures data has been input accurately into EHR for NYS Public Health Law compliance.
  • Runs immunization compliance reports and contacts various internal departments within the Hofstra community to ensure compliance.
  • Supervises student employees and assigns tasks to other support staff when needed to ensure optimum operation of the office.
  • May perform other duties not specifically identified above but which require the same degree of skills normally included within the above job title.

Hours:
Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 7pm.
Saturday from 10am to 6pm.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented, team player, able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment subject to multiple interruptions.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve overall efficiency to best meet the needs of the student population.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and phone skills.
  • Superior organizational skills and dedication to completing and delivering assigned projects in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with EHR systems.

Salary/Salary Range
