Job Summary:
The Department of History, Politics, and Political Economy at Regis College, Regis University, invites applications for a one-year Term Instructor in International Relations and Comparative Politics. The appointment will start 1 August 2024 with the possibility of renewal for a second year, depending on budget approval, the needs of the department, and evaluation of instruction and related duties.

The position requires teaching seven courses over the 2024-25 year including Introduction to Comparative Politics and Introduction to International Relations. In addition, the successful applicant will teach upper division classes within both subfields and a seventh course as assigned (potentially within the integrative core curriculum). We particularly welcome candidates whose research and teaching are grounded in considerations of justice as well as qualitative and/or quantitative empirical research.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
About the Department: The Regis University Department of History, Politics and Political Economy is housed in Regis College, a Jesuit, Catholic, liberal-arts college in Denver, Colorado, which serves primarily traditional-age undergraduates and where care for the whole person (cura personalis) – students, faculty, and staff – is a key element of our academic community. The History, Politics, and Political Economy department offers majors and minors in history, politics, and political economy, as well as a minors in pre-law and Asian Pacific Studies. Interdisciplinary collaboration is strongly valued in our department.

Position Requirements: Applicants who have completed a PhD in political science or a closely related field by 1 August 2024 and have experience teaching at the undergraduate level are preferred. The department will consider advanced PhD candidates with undergraduate teaching experience who have completed all requirements except for the dissertation (ABD).

Pay Rate:
$48,000 to $50,000 / annually commensurate with qualifications.
