Job Summary
This is a full time, 9-month Health and Exercise Sciences visiting faculty position in the School of Applied Health Sciences. This position involves work in classroom, community, and laboratory settings. The Visiting Instructor works collaboratively and communicates with faculty, staff, and students to ensure program and student success. The instructor is responsible for course oversight and design, and ensures their assigned courses are in compliance with Exercise Science requirements for accreditation.

Supervisory Responsibilities
None.

Duties/Responsibilities
Serves as The Instructor for three Human Anatomy and/or Human Physiology courses (HLSC 270, HSLC 271) for a total of 12 credits per semester. Other courses may be assigned as needed.
Oversees Strength & Conditioning programs (for Exercise Science program) at JU and with Community Partners (Mayo Clinic and YMCA).
Meets with students and faculty regarding student questions or concerns.
Attends faculty meetings for the Department of Health and Exercise Sciences.
Complies with academic handbooks for the program.
Attends recruitment events for the university and assists with marketing for increasing program enrollment.
Represents the program at university/college meetings and functions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Instruct, professionally communicate, and demonstrate skills and techniques to healthcare students.

Have computer proficiency and ability to teach online.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to evaluate students in the teaching/learning lab environment.
Knowledge of effective teaching techniques and curriculum development.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
Minimum of Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Exercise Science or a related field.
Experience developing and overseeing strength and conditioning programs with students as trainers.
Knowledge of Exercise Sciences and Health Sciences curriculum and course content.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens.
Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
