Job Summary

The College of Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) invites applications for tenure-track positions in the Jasper Department of Chemical Engineering. We are a new, growing department and we welcome applications from candidates in all areas of Chemical Engineering. The program has been recently accredited by ABET, and we are looking to expand the expertise of our faculty in order to start a new MS program in Chemical Engineering. Highly qualified applicants will be considered for startup funding through the University of Texas System STARS Program. Candidates are expected to qualify for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Screening of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Essential Functions

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Maintain an externally funded research program.
Teach ungraduated and graduate level courses.
Participate in service activities to the Department, College, and the profession in general.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ABET-EAC accreditation and involvement in the program assessment process.
A proven record of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.
