In addition the following requirements must also be met: Citizen of the United States At least 21 years of age upon completion of the Police Basic Training Program Possess and maintain a valid Class D driver’s license Successfully pass entry level requirements and testing (medical and psychological) Must not have been convicted of, or pled guilty (or entered a plea of Nolo Contendere) to any felony charges Must not have been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States. (Note: Honorable discharge waivers may be granted for the following type separations: (1) entry level separations; or (2) general discharge under honorable conditions). Good physical condition Good communication skills Special Conditions The Police Officer III position is considered for officers who are currently P.O.S.T. certified. Officers who remain employed with The University of Memphis Police Services for one (year) will receive a base pay increase of $11,000 and all applicable adjustments earned. Work Schedule Police Officers work 10 hour shifts, working 4 days and off 3. Officers may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
