Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry

The Chemistry Program at Carlow University invites applications for part-time non-tenure track chemistry faculty position(s) with an anticipated start date of August 2024. A broad knowledge of chemistry and proficiency in a diverse array of laboratory skills is required. The position entails teaching undergraduate laboratory sections across the program curriculum including courses in general chemistry, chemical principles, and organic chemistry. The ability to teach sections of general physics laboratory is a plus. For the Fall, 2024 semester courses are typically scheduled in either a Monday/Wednesday afternoon or Tuesday/Thursday morning block schedule format. Basic duties will include pre-laboratory instruction from a provided curriculum, laboratory experiment/classroom supervision, basic lab setup and tear-down, as well as student assessment and feedback.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in one of the major sub-disciplines of the chemical sciences (or a closely related field such as chemical engineering) is required.
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is required. Preferential consideration will be given to those candidates with teaching experience in the specific courses mentioned above.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
