Faculty - Assistant Professor, Occupational Therapy

Carlow University’s College of Health and Wellness is seeking a full-time 12-month tenure track faculty to join our faculty at the Oakland campus located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Carlow University invites applications for a new faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, based upon academic qualifications, in the Master of Science and entry level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy Programs. Documented evidence of expertise in the areas of adult/older adult practice, and anatomy/biomechanics. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, support an inter-professional learning environment, encourage student learning and development, and participate in service activities to support the University, community, and profession.

Required Educational Qualifications:

• Earned terminal doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy or related field (PhD, DSc, EdD, post-professional OTD, DrOT, etc.)

Required Experience/Qualifications:

• Occupational Therapist with NBCOT certification
• Licensed and eligible to practice occupational therapy in the State of Pennsylvania • Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Evidence of advanced credentials/expertise in an area of occupational therapy practice
• Excellent communication, conflict management and problem-solving skills
• A demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Strong leadership skills and a vision for excellence and interprofessional collaboration
• Demonstrated skills in teaching and instructional technology.
• Evidence of active involvement in community and professional service
• A commitment to the educational mission of Carlow University

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five or more years of post-licensure clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience in research and supervising doctoral student activities, including capstone projects.
• Previous teaching experience at the university level
• Evidence of active involvement in community and professional service
