Position Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation Science in the School of Public Health and Health Professions ( SPHHP ) is inviting applications for a nontenure-track, state-funded, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy Program. Rank of professorship dependent on experience.

This person will serve as the DPT program's Associate Director of Clinical Education.

Workload for this position will be split primarily between teaching and clinical education, with additional expectations in the areas of research and service.

Clinical Education expectations:
The Associate Director of Clinical Education will assist the Director of Clinical Education with the following job duties:
  • Develop and sustain the existing DPT clinical education program
  • Completing in person and zoom clinical site visits
  • Networking and outreach with new and existing clinical partners
  • Administrative duties including utilizing Exxat, Web CPI , Excel and Google Forms
  • Assisting in the clinical site selection process, student onboarding and student mentorship
  • Frequent collaboration with the DCE regarding student clinical education preparation, supervision and collecting outcome data

Annual salary commensurate with qualification and rank of appointment. This is a 10-month academic year position. An additional 2 months of summer service are available.

The Department of Rehabilitation Science at UB has a longstanding history of excellence in clinical education in programs leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy, the BS/MS in Occupational Therapy, and the PhD in Rehabilitation Science. Minimum Qualifications
  • Post-professional doctoral degree in health-related field (ie: DPT )
  • Licensed PT, eligible for New York licensure
  • Teaching experience
  • Knowledge of higher education
  • Clinical experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience mentoring students
  • Involvement in professional associations
  • Strong computer literacy skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD or equivalent highly preferred
  • APTA member
  • Recent experience as a Clinical Instructor (CI), Site Coordinator of Clinical Education ( SCCE ), and/or DCE / ADCE .
  • Familiarity with Exxat, Excel, Web CPI

Physical Demands
Salary Range $67,000 - $92,000
