Lecturer of Psychological Sciences Description Rice University has a promotable teaching professor track for those with the promise and commitment to become pedagogical leaders in their discipline, and the successful applicant could eventually be eligible for an appointment to that track. The successful applicant will teach six undergraduate courses a year, split across the fall and spring semesters. The course load includes a large introductory course in psychology (fall & spring), an introductory course in cognitive psychology (fall), and a course in research methods (fall & spring). The sixth course (spring) would be an upper-level class in the area of the lecturer’s expertise, or in fulfillment of a departmental need. The Department of Psychological Sciences trains doctoral students in cognitive and affective neuroscience; health psychology; human factors/human-computer interaction (HF/HCI); and industrial/organizational (I-O) psychology. The Department also offers professional master’s programs in our HF/HCI and I-O programs. Salary for the lectureship is $65,000. Moving expenses are not included with this position.
