Assistant Professor of Management

The Department of Management at Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business is accepting applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Management. This is a full-time, tenure-track position expected to begin in August 2024.

Area(s) of Specialization: Human Resource Management

Primary Job Duties: Teach in-person courses in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, and other management courses at the undergraduate and graduate level while maintaining an active research agenda. We seek candidates who use effective teaching and classroom management strategies that enhance the success of diverse learners. The normal teaching load is 9 hours per semester, however for the first two semesters, the load is 6 hours.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Management, or related disciplines. ABD candidates are eligible, with the requirement that the doctoral degree be completed by August 2024. The doctoral degree must have been earned in an on-campus setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited university or doctoral program of comparable excellence. Capable of meeting AACSB Scholarly Academic/ Academically Qualified (SA/AQ) as per the current definitions of the Perdue School of Business. Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed management journals and other peer-reviewed journals addressing the workplace. Preference would be given to candidates with experience in teaching Human Resource Management, Employee-Management Relations, and Employment Law courses. Professional experience in Human Resource Management, Employment Law, Labor Relations, or related-area is also preferred. We expect candidates to demonstrate a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.

We seek a candidate who will continue the development of our Human Resource Management curriculum. Expectations include applied activities, such as serving as faculty liaison to our Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) student chapter, and engagement with the professional H.R. community.
