Position Summary
The Kinesiology Department at SUNY Cortland is accepting applications for a visiting lecturer/ assistant professor to teach four courses or 12 credit hours per semester and hold appropriate office hours. A visiting lecturer/ professor works under the direct supervision of the department chairperson and collaborates closely with faculty and staff within the department. Additional working relationships with faculty and staff in other college departments are possible.
Major Responsibilities
The department typically hires for the courses/subject areas listed below but this list is not all inclusive. Other courses/subject areas may become available within the department. ILLUSTRATIVE NEEDS INCLUDE: Introduction to Kinesiology, Research Skills in Kinesiology, Nutrition and Sport Performance, Motor Control and Learning, Cardio-Respiratory Fitness Assessment and Programming, and Exercise Prescription.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Required Qualifications
Lecturer
Master’s degree in Kinesiology or closely related field

Assistant Professor
Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications
ABD or PhD in Kinesiology with a pedagogical emphasis in motor behavior (motor learning/motor control) or exercise physiology.
