Hofstra University’s Department of Comparative Literature, Languages, and Linguistics is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach a graduate class in dialectology, with an emphasis on variation in the structural components of language (e.g., phonology, morphology, syntax). Regional specialization is open. The course will be taught fall semesters starting in 2018. Additional teaching opportunities may be available depending on the emerging needs of the undergraduate and graduate programs and on the candidate's areas of expertise.

We are also looking for an adjunct to teach Introductory and Intermediate Swahili starting fall 2017. The ideal candidate will also be a linguist with the ability to teach additional courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate linguistics programs, depending on department needs. Non-linguist Swahili instructors are also encouraged to apply.

Candidates are required to hold an MA or PhD in linguistics.
