Position: Lecturer in Pre-Columbian Art, part-time (25% FTE). Date of Appointment: January 01, 2018. Qualifications: MA in Art History, Anthropology, or a related field required. Ph.D or ABD, and prior college-level teaching experience is preferred. This position requires expertise in stone sculpture and architecture, fiber arts, ceramics, metal and 2-D arts of Meso-, Central, and South America of the Pre-Columbian era. Prior graduate-level coursework in Pre-Columbian art and culture and demonstrated research in the field is required. Experience teaching online is preferred. Duties: 1) Teach AD 368: Pre-Columbian Art (25 students); 2.) Record and deliver lectures and other course content via SIUOnline; 3) Grade all assignments, and provide timely feedback and communication to students; and 4) Communicate with Art and Design faculty and staff as needed.
