Inclusion and Diversity Leader
Position Core Role:
This role's primary function is to oversee the inclusion and diversity initiatives of HMIN. This includes tracking and reporting diversity metrics to local and North American Leadership, engaging with external community partners and supporting events as appropriate and overseeing strategies to ensure HMIN has a diverse workforce and has established an inclusive environment.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
Develop and lead multi-pronged Diversity and Inclusion strategy to build high performing culture of diverse and inclusive workforce including but not limited to program solutions and training tools, and resources. Determine appropriateness diversity initiatives considering needs of the organization. Develop and support leadership commitment of diverse and inclusive organization.
Partner with Human Resources, Communications, Business Resource groups and other key contributors in driving strategic workforce pipeline development reflective on organizations inclusion and diversity strategies and objectives. Assist with the development of policies and programs to increase the awareness of the importance and the commitment to diversity and inclusion. Integrate Diversity and Inclusion strategy into key business processes such as recruitment, performance management, leadership development, and engagement and retention strategies.
Generate, analyze, retain and disseminate Diversity and Inclusion information and leverage best practices across the organization. Develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of company diversity initiatives implemented and prepare annual reports to management on the value of initiatives.
Coordinate company-wide diversity and inclusion activity, including committee meetings, training etc. Oversee and coordinate activity company diversity committee. Oversee creation of Business Resource Groups and their daily operations.
Engage with appropriate community organization to develop and strengthen Honda and community relations; particularly related to diverse partnerships. Coordinate company diverse sponsorship/partnerships; maintain and grow relationships. Organize external events related to diversity or community relations.
Work with the appropriate partners to develop training on key inclusion and diversity topics.
Remain current on diversity programs and developments, building internal and external networks within the field. Coordinate and align to Honda North American diversity initiatives.
Daily Tasks:
Project Management
Reporting of Diversity and Inclusion details and information.
Analysis and trending
Lead and communicate effectively in all activities
Internal and external relations functions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of developing and maintaining diversity and community relations, strategies, practices and systems.
Internal communications.
Practical knowledge of general diversity and inclusion program development and awareness sharing.
Strong Microsoft Office skills including excel and PowerPoint.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to engage with the community groups and leaders.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work directly with management.
Well Organized.
Ability to work independently but also a strong team player.
Demonstrated good judgement and decision making capability.
Proven special event and activity planning experience.
Required Experience:
Minimum of Five years of relevant experience in Diversity and Inclusion or equivalent field.
Education Requirements:
Master's degree in a relevant field is a preference OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
Honda Factors:

Background in developing diversity and inclusion programs highly desired.
Experience with Microsoft office.
