The Director of Human Resources leads Human Resources practices and objectives to provide a high performance culture emphasizing empowerment, excellence, productivity standards goal attainment and recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The HR Director oversees the development, planning and delivery of all HR programs, policies and payroll procedures from the ground up for the Bert Ogden Arena and HEB Park. Essential Duties: Follows the organization’s Human Resources policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting all human resources functions. Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to employee matters Leads the organization to deliver best-in-class people operations including HR strategic development and design, recruiting and retention, performance management, on-boarding, orientation, learning and development and employee relations and engagement and compensation and benefit programs Serves as a strategic partner to the Management Team to build a world-class culture and successfully implement strategic solutions supporting business growth and employee engagement and retention Provides strategic leadership in order to build and maintain a robust performance management, talent and organization development, workforce planning, career pathing, and succession planning capability Administers all policies and procedure to employees Manages benefit and compensation programs that are market competitive Implements all payroll processes, perform payroll functions, and ensure all employer tax requirements are filed Manages hiring processes for all departments and assist in job posting, screening, interviewing, tracking of candidates, and preparation of all offer letters for review and approval Coordinates training or trains Managers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, safety, and sexual harassment. Trains employees in organization’s Guest Service Program Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Advises President of EEOC/HRC complaints and other employee relations problems. Ensure compensation policy and processes are in alignment so that employees receive incentives and rewards for effective performance Works with senior management to create a culture where talent can grow, develop and achieve outstanding business performance Develop and manage relationships with all Human Resources related external vendors and partners. Design and lead the organization’s strategy around diversity, equity, and inclusion. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources, Psychology or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience · Minimum of 5+ years of progressive leadership in Human Resources Management experience in a role similar to this position. Background in sports and entertainment helpful but not required · Broad knowledge and experience in administration of recruiting & hiring, compensation & benefits, HR systems, training & development, employee relations, HR law, organizational planning & development, employee engagement as well as other Human Resource programs. · 3+ years experience processing payroll. Experience in ADP Work Force a plus · SPHR or PHR preferred · Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with the ability to synthesize and accurately present relevant information · Strong sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy · Ability to use critical discretion of all matters of confidentially · Must have the ability to manage in a fast-paced, diverse environment with focus on Client and Guest Services, entrepreneurship and building & growing a strong business is essential · Responds quickly and effectively to change trends and circumstances, embraces change and welcomes fresh perspectives, Handle conflicts, make decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations. Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur · Strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs · Maintain a professional, cooperative working relationship with City officials, clients, employees, promoters, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends
