RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in instrumental music education, and in other areas according to candidate's qualifications and Department of Music needs. Recruit and advise music education majors. Demonstrate commitment to university service. Supervise student teachers. Develop and maintain good relations with area music educators.

RANK & SALARY: Visiting Lecturer This is a one-year position salary of $43,000.00
APPOINTMENT BEGINS: August 1, 2018

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ABD or Doctorate degree in music or music education. Three years elementary, middle, or high school instrumental music teaching experience. Two years of college teaching experience at the graduate assistant level or above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High-level expertise (teaching ability and scholarship) in instrumental music education. Creative specializations in two or more of the following areas: conducting, jazz, assessment, diversity, band education, orchestral education, string pedagogy, multicultural music education, music learning theory, sociology, psychology, special learners, technology, vernacular music, mariachi, social justice, or creativity. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and student success as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
