Financial Business Analyst

What We're Looking For:
Our Finance team at 2U is growing, and we're looking for a Financial Business Analyst. The goal of the role is to provide analytical and strategic support to individual Program Management teams, with a goal of maximizing the performance of each program. This includes aide in financial planning, analysis and projection, data-driven analysis, monitoring of trends in KPIs, and identification of opportunities for operational improvements. Our ideal candidate will have experience in Business Analytics and Finance, and be adept and proactive in creating and maintaining working relationships across 2U's many departments.

Key Role and Responsibilities:
Support 2U departments (e.g. Demand Gen, Product Marketing, Admissions, Post-Enrollment Services, Program Management) by developing financial models to evaluate data trends
Develop tactical (short-term) and strategic (long-term) action plans to mitigate the risks and capitalize on the opportunities for further growth, scalability, and sustainability
Utilizes technical skills to recommend enhancements to forecasting techniques and provide insightful analysis to support decision making and help drive business results.
Provide analytical support for performance trends and identify potential root causes for those trends
Leverage reporting tools (i.e. Tableau, Salesforce) to develop, improve, and maintain reports that measure program's health and performance
Monitor and analyze the competitive environment and making comparative analyses; recommend changes in methods and materials
Organize, analyze and present high value analysis and interpretation of data in support of Finance and strategic planning functions
Proactively identify, contribute and drive the execution of financial improvement opportunities
Lead ad-hoc department-wide projects, as assigned, to support Finance and other 2U department initiatives
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree is required, with a concentration in a mathematical or analytical field preferred (e.g. Economics, Math, Computer Science, Political Science)
1-3 years of relevant analytical experience in a professional setting
Demonstrated general understanding of business operations
Analytical thinker with great attention to detail
A comprehensive understanding of Salesforce CRM is required
Intermediate Excel skills required and database skills required. SQL and Tableau experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
Great communication and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an environment of constant change
The ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
