About the School of Building Construction:

SBC is housed in the College of Design, a unique design college that naturally combines technology and research in the many areas of design, buildings, and innovation. We use design thinking to develop new technologies, anticipate the future of buildings and environments, and change the way people experience buildings, art, everyday objects, and their immediate surroundings. Our design, design-build, and construction application research portfolio encompass today's most pressing human and built environment issues, including accessibility, sustainability, and smart cities, as well as ground-breaking efforts in spatial analysis and music technology. This creative, innovative, and unique environment sets Georgia Tech's School of Building Construction apart from any other. We work across multiple disciplines, including architecture, engineering, computer science, business, finance, city planning, and public policy, to meet advancing needs for efficient, sustainable construction practices.

The School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech is situated for a major growth in size and impact during the next several years. We are located at the heart of Atlanta, a hub of many construction and design companies. We recently reactivated our Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in 2020. As the construction industry continues to evolve into a technology-adopting sector, it became apparent that there is a need for a technology-focused and STEM-designated undergraduate program at Georgia Tech that captures progressive hands-on technology, innovation, and industry support. In addition to the new B.S. program, we continue to offer our signature graduate programs: Master of Science in Building Construction and Facility Management (MSBCFM) with three unique tracks in Program Management, Facility Management, and Construction Management; Master of Real Estate Development (MRED), a completely online Professional Master's in Occupational Safety and Health (PMOSH), and Ph.D. in Building Construction.
