The College of Nursing (CoN) at Xavier University is seeking experienced, innovative, and highly motivated candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track, teaching professor to teach in our high-quality undergraduate and graduate nursing programs to start in the Fall of 2024. The CoN programs include BSN, second-degree accelerated MSN (MIDAS), and online MSN, FNP, and DNP programs. The successful candidate will likely teach in one or more of our nursing programs depending on their expertise and the College's needs. Candidates with expertise in more than one specialty area and who are flexible in their ability to teach various subject areas or across programs are highly desirable. Candidates with an active Family Nurse Practitioner certificate are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will primarily teach in our undergraduate BSN and FNP programs and may teach in our MIDAS, DNP, and/or other MSN graduate programs as per the college's needs. Successful candidates are expected to provide teaching instructions in a classroom, online, and/or in lab/simulation. The undergraduate and accelerated programs are traditional on-campus programs that require the physical presence of faculty. The online graduate programs require some physical on-campus presence.

Teaching professor are expected to participate in the implementation, revision, and/or development of courses or curricula. Faculty are expected to participate in the evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical experiences, test construction, and assessment of students’ learning; establish effective coordinating relationships with co-workers and clinical agencies; participate in continuing education and professional development; participate in student academic advising and guidance; and participate in the faculty organization and appropriate program, college, and university activities and committees.

Desired: Diverse clinical areas of expertise (providing flexibility in teaching various subject areas); active certificate as a family nurse practitioner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current and unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Ohio or be eligible to be licensed and practice in Ohio.
At least a master’s degree in nursing or higher. A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field is preferred, or the candidate must have a plan for completing a doctoral program within 2 years of hire.
· A nurse practitioner degree or post-master certificate in FNP from an accredited program is desired.

At least 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in a specialty area.
At least 2 years of teaching experience in an accredited program in a content-specialty area is preferred.
Knowledge of curriculum development, methods of teaching, and evaluation are desired.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.
