Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The mission of the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is to provide child care that encompasses the needs of each child and family in a safe, educational environment. The structure of the ECLC’s focus is on the individual needs of each child, while providing quality, reliable, and safe child care in preparation for higher education.

The ECLC seeks to provide a program of experience designed to attain the following goals: to provide many opportunities for social development and adjustment; to promote development of good health habits; to provide opportunities for self-expression through language, music, art, role playing, dramatizations, and other play experiences;
to provide an atmosphere in which a child can succeed, thus building confidence in his or her own ability and worth.to provide an atmosphere in which creativity is stimulated; to develop a feeling of adequacy with emphasis on independence and good work habits; and to lay foundations for subject matter learning and intellectual growth.
Description of Work Continued:
Primary Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality care for preschool children. The employee will be fully responsible for planning and implementing a program that will enrich the physical, social and emotional needs of the children. The employee will be responsible for maintaining an environment that is free of danger. The employee must have the ability to administer CPR and First Aid. The employee must have basic computer knowledge and verbal/written communication skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related childcare experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
Communicate effectively with children, their families, and other staff.
Provide quality, nurturing care to children enrolled in the program.
Demonstrate skills to properly address developmental needs of children. Conduct and document developmental screenings and assessments of children.
Maintain effective, working relationships with children, families, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a child care learning center
