Department Summary
The College of Design (DSGN) is a multidisciplinary academic unit with approximately 100 tenure-related faculty members, 150 non-tenure-related faculty members, 50 staff, and 1,700 student majors in 9 departments and programs (23 degree programs).

The School of Architecture & Environment is part of the College of Design at the University of Oregon, an Association of American Universities member and tier-one research institution in the Pacific Northwest that is ranked “highest research activity” by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The School of Architecture & Environment offers doctoral degree programs in architecture and landscape architecture, graduate degrees in historic preservation, fully accredited graduate and undergraduate professional degrees in architecture, interior architecture, and landscape architecture, and concurrent graduate degree programs.

The main School of Architecture & Environment campus as well as the architecture, landscape architecture, and interior architecture departments are located in Eugene, Oregon with satellite programs in Portland, Oregon. Both Portland and Eugene are socially progressive, bike-friendly, and family-friendly cities with ambitious goals for carbon emissions reduction and community well-being. The University of Oregon has an active Native American Student Union centered at the Many Nations Longhouse. The Black Student Task Force has recently broken ground on a new Black Cultural Center. Position Summary
The School of Architecture & Environment is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our faculty as a Visiting Professor of Practice. This position will offer studio, workshop, and lecture courses in the Department of Interior Architecture on the Eugene campus.

Additionally, this position will serve as an advisor and mentor to students, offering guidance on both professional and creative matters pertinent to their coursework. This includes assisting students in navigating academic challenges, refining their design skills, and preparing them for success in their future careers.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in interior architecture, with a demonstrated ability to effectively teach and engage students in both theoretical concepts and practical applications. They should also have a passion for mentoring and supporting students as they progress through their academic journey.

Minimum Requirements
• A degree in a relevant discipline or a comparable combination of coursework and professional experience equal to a tenured professor.

• Knowledge of and interest in interior architecture.
• Effective communication with students, faculty, and community stakeholders in design and public projects.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience teaching in higher education.
• Experience coordinating or managing projects including public participation.
