Purpose of Position
The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of North Dakota invites applications for a 9-month Instructor position beginning August 2024. This position will support the teaching mission of the department for our undergraduate and graduate degree programs as part of a collaborative team of faculty and staff.

Duties & Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be dedicated to excellence in chemical engineering education for a diverse student population. Position duties center on teaching with some additional time for research and service:
Teaching responsibilities will typically consist of up to four-course sections per semester at the undergraduate and graduate level and will include online instruction.
The position includes opportunities to conduct research that complements current department and college focus areas in energy systems, environmental sustainability, biomedical engineering, and engineering education.
Other duties include participation in department, college, university, and professional service activities. )
Required Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students
Minimum Requirements

B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering or a closely related field
Experience teaching undergraduate courses in chemical engineering
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with online engineering teaching
Experience with laboratory teaching
Research or industrial experience in chemical engineering
