Faculty - Assistant Professor, Biological Sciences

Carlow University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Undergraduate Biology Program within the Department of Biological Sciences. This is a nine-month, full-time, tenure track academic appointment to begin in the Fall 2024. The area of specialization includes the ability to teach undergraduate courses in Genetics, Cell Biology, and other courses needed by the department.

Responsibilities include teaching courses in the undergraduate Biological Science curriculum, academic advising, and active engagement in the life of the department and college including participation in recruiting and other events in support of student learning and alumni engagement. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to engage in high impact practices including engaging students in mentored research and other forms of hands-on experiential learning. Carlow prizes excellence in teaching, but also values and requires scholarly pursuits, including interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as active service to the college, university, and community.

Qualifications
Earned Ph.D. in Genetics, Biology, or related field is required.
Experience teaching at the college/university level is required.
Technological proficiency in a digital learning environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Dedication to undergraduate education, advising, and mentoring.
Comfort in teaching both in person and online classes.
The ability to supervise undergraduate research is particularly desirable.
