Job Summary:
The Division of Education at Regis University is seeking versatile faculty who will contribute to our mission to help initial licensure preservice teachers develop the skills necessary to teach all students in equity focused-inclusive multilingual environments. We are seeking colleagues who will work collaboratively with fellow faculty members and professionals in local schools to ensure program quality and help advise students interested in becoming teachers. This position will also contribute to assessment for courses. This is a 12-month position.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The department is seeking an experienced instructor to teach Special Education in diverse classrooms and courses in assessment. The position will be housed in our post traditional, online program, but contribute to all areas of our education program both traditional, classroom-based initial licensure courses in assessment and online courses in Special Education practices and methods. This colleague will also take a leadership role in developing and implementing an initial licensure assessment system with Division faculty. This position is a 12-month, year-round position with all major holidays and 12/23-1/2/2025 off and the ability to accrue vacation. The teaching load is 3 courses in the Fall, 3 courses in the Spring, 2 course in the summer.

Position Requirements: Minimum qualifications include:

An advanced degree in Special Education (i.e. M.Ed., M.A., Ph.D.), or an advanced degree in Education with significant coursework in Special Education and a Special Education Endorsement

5 years of successful teaching in Special education in K-12 public schools

Significant experience with assessment

Experience with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.

Higher education, teacher mentoring, and/or instructional coaching experience

A demonstrated commitment to educator preparation and public education

Proven dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Experience with and understanding of Colorado state standards

Preferred Qualifications

An Ed.D./Ph.D. in Education

8 or more years of successful teaching, interventionist, and/or instructional coaching experience

Experience designing assessment systems

Demonstrated understanding of current education trends, challenges, and legislation

Recent, successful teaching experience in higher education in person and online

Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning

Coursework and experience around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

Pay Rate:
$66,666 / annually
